Equip yourself for baby's arrival: car seat, stroller, high chair, here's my selection.
When I found out I was pregnant, I started looking for the basic equipment I needed to be well-equipped for baby's arrival. I have to admit, there were so many choices that I was a bit lost in all the options. A regular shell, an evolving shell, a stroller with pram, with adapter, a 3-wheeler, a 4-wheeler, for all terrain or not, etc!
After listening to 2-3 podcasts and reading online reviews, I was still confused. So I asked my partners at Tanguay to help me decide what would be best for our family. Here are my choices for baby Beatrice's equipment:
1. Pipa car seat:
I love this one because it's lightweight and ultra sturdy. It installs really quickly in the car using the Pipa seat base. Plus, it's gorgeous!
2. Base for Pipa car seat:
This base is required to install the Pipa car seat in your car.
3. Thule Urban Glide stroller:
Since we live in the woods, we needed an all-terrain stroller that was easy to maneuver and could grow with our cocotte. This stroller is perfect for newborns and toddlers, and Sam can't wait to use it when he goes running with our beautiful Beatrice.
4. Universal adapter:
If you're going ahead with the Pipa car bench as well as the Thule Urban Glide stroller, you'll need an adapter in order to put your shell on the stroller. I opted for this one and it works really well.
5. Jet 3 travel stroller:
Sam and I would really like to be able to travel with our cocotte if we feel she's ready. So we've equipped ourselves with this gorgeous Jet 3 Travel Stroller from Silver Cross. The model is ultra-light and the stroller is self-supporting when folded. It's ideal for both city and travel use.
6. Cybex Lemo 3 in 1 high chair:
We opted for the Cybex Lemo 3-in-1 high chair to have a chair that grows with baby. At 6 months, we can use the Baby Set and Snack Tray to make feeding easier. As our child grows, we can remove the accessories to transform the LEMO into an everyday chair that can be used for many years to come. We love it!
7. Sapling hiking baby carrier:
This baby carrier is a must-have for sports enthusiasts! We haven't had a chance to try it out yet because our cocotte is too young, but we can't wait to go hikin' with her! Many of our friends use it and say it's a real pleasure to use.
8. Hubble baby monitor:
I chose the Hubble "Crib" edition baby monitor because of its ability to monitor your baby and its ergonomic screen. What's more, you can play a "white noise" and talk to your baby if he wakes up to soothe him. To be honest, Béa doesn't nap in her bassinette yet (we're working hard on that, hihi), but once she did, I loved these options!
9. Iora bedside bassinette:
The Iora bedside bassinette is ideal for baby's first months!
10. Slumber travel cot:
The Slumber travel bed acts as a playpen, bassinet, mattress and carry bag with shoulder strap. It can be used overnight in both bassinet and cot modes, so it's super convenient for going to sleep elsewhere. A must-have!
11. Charlie Crane Levo Transat:
I've tried several Transats, and with the reflux of cocotte this chair is the only one she really likes. It's available everywhere, but you can get it at the local Méchant Loup boutique.
I hope this little list will help you make your choices for baby's arrival! Please note that every child is different, one child may love something and another unfortunately hate it! I hope your little ones love all these products!
I only recommend brands and products that I believe in, that I've tested and that I love! This article was written in collaboration with my Tanguay partners! Thank you so much for your support! xx
